Big Brother 12 – Diamond Power of Veto FAQs

Matt Big Brother 12 Diamond Power of Veto

Everyone keeps asking the same questions about the Big Brother 12 Diamond Power of Veto.  Over and over and over again.  SO here is a handy dandy list of all those FAQs to serve as a reference the next time you are asked one of these questions 30 times or so.

FAQ 1 – Can Matt nominate Brendon with the DPOV?

Answer – No.  The HoH is safe. The HoH is always safe.  Think of it as a reward for actually winning the competition that week and having to make at least two new enemies.

FAQ 2- Can Matt veto both nominees?

Answer – No. Matt can only replace one nominee. As Matt is nominated he will most likely replace himself.

FAQ 3 – But maybe Matt CAN replace Brendon. How do you know? We are supposed to expect the unexpected!

Answer – I get my facts from the episode where Matt found the DPOV in Pandora’s Box and read the rules out loud very clearly. If you want to pretend that there is something else going on, have fun with your fantasy, but please don’t confuse other fans.

FAQ 4 – Matt has been talking about there being the possibility of a power in the house.  Can’t he lose DPOV for talking about it?

Answer – Matt can only lose the power if he out right says “I have the Diamond Power of Veto.”  Right now it is safe to assume he is dropping hints, so that when its all over he can say “I was trying to hint to you guys that I had a power!” so that the HGs don’t stop trusting him.  He is preparing for the backlash.

FAQ 5 – But the last time DPOV was used that person had the sole vote! Will Matt have the sole vote?

Answer – No. Matt only gets to remove one nomination and replace them with another nomination. The last time DPOV was in play it was season four.  Allison won it.   It was later in the season, so there was no one left to vote, leaving Allison with the sole vote.

FAQ 6 – Can’t Matt use DPOV to get J.K Rowling to write another Harry Potter novel?

Answer – Alas, no.  While it may be fun to speculate, the terms of DPOV were very clearly defined when Matt opened Pandora’s box. Speculate about whether he will use it, whom he will put up, but for the love of Big Brother please stop with the absolutely insane theories.

FAQ 7 – When does Matt actually use the DPOV?

Answer – He will use it eviction night.  He can use it either this week or next week.  He will use it this week, duh.

FAQ 8 – How you do you know so much about Big Brother and I know nothing?

matt can replace two 0f the people not just one..and not the hoh

noluv4brendan August 18, 2010 at 9:44 pm

That is fucking annoying, I want him to be able to replace ANYONE in the house.

Topher August 18, 2010 at 9:48 pm

@vf You are wrong.

Joanna August 18, 2010 at 9:49 pm

vf you are an asshat. Why can’t people just accept the truth about this thing! I can’t wait until Thursday is over and I never have to hear mindless DPOV speculation ever again!

Jase August 18, 2010 at 9:54 pm

I thought the DPOV was invalid for the next two evictions?

Topher August 18, 2010 at 9:56 pm

Jase, he can use any either of the next 2.

Fuck.

Anonymous August 18, 2010 at 10:11 pm

can Matt nominate Regan?

Joanna August 18, 2010 at 10:25 pm

NO!

Anonymous August 18, 2010 at 10:28 pm

Why not? I thought it stipulated only the HOH was safe?

holy fuck you people dont listen August 18, 2010 at 10:39 pm

for those of you “that just dont want to believe the obvious” why dont you go the pirate bay, download the episode, and watch for yourself, it clearly states everything he put in the faqs, no hoh, only 1 person, and everyone still votes. && why the fuck does it matter if he can nominate ragan, he obviously wouldnt

dumb……………………………asses.

holy fuck you people dont listen August 18, 2010 at 10:41 pm

p.s topher you should add that we wont know until live eviction tomorrow if he uses it, since people cant stop asking that to

Topher August 18, 2010 at 10:51 pm

BTW, I did not write this one. Joanna did. :)

We will add that one. Good Idea

Anonymous August 18, 2010 at 11:56 pm

Raegan would be a perfect replacement – brigade in tact, and Brenden gets to evict who he wanted… you guys aren’t following along. And Reagan isn’t HOH, he only won POV, and they said nothing about the POV winner, only that the HOH couldn’t be nominated. Maybe I don’t listen, but man, you people just can’t read. ;)

Melissa August 18, 2010 at 11:56 pm

Why hasn’t he told the Brigade about the DPOV

Anonymous August 18, 2010 at 11:58 pm

Melissa: because if he does, then it gets taken away, that WAS one of the other stipulations…

Joanna August 19, 2010 at 12:08 am

Ragan can’t be nominated. The only position safer than HoH is the POV winner. That’s just common knowledge.

anonymous August 19, 2010 at 1:42 am

matt is probably gonna put up kathy
cause he ragan and britney are best friends
and he obv wont put up hayden or enzo
and he cant put up brendan
soooooo kathy is the obvious option
then the brigade is intact and they will make it to final four
hallelujah :D

slyfox August 19, 2010 at 4:20 am

god these people are stupid i just read the faqs about the dpov and you are right some people are just plain stupid or have been dropped on their head a few times when they were a baby geeeze

Anonymous August 19, 2010 at 6:37 am

Just use CBS.com. It is 23 minutes into episode 14:

“Congratulations! You now possess the diamond power of veto. This veto not only gives you the ability to save yourself or someone else from the block, it also gives you the power to name their replacement nominee. This veto can be used only once in one of the next two evictions. You must keep this power a secret or you risk losing it. Use your power wisely for you will soon learn what you may have unleashed upon the house.”

And there is no mention of the HoH. Please don’t confuse other fans by stating that you got your info from what he read, because it isn’t in there. You are most definitely right that he can’t put up Brendon. But it is debated because it did not state that he can’t and is a special power that lies outside the normal weekly routine.

The HoH is assumed to be safe. And there was a lot more text on the note Matt was holding than what was read aloud in the episode. More than likely, it clarified that he can’t put up the HoH and they edited that for time, assuming that no one would even think that was a possibility.

People…People….People….

There is a scroll function on your system, phone, whatever to actually move up and READ what the folks on this site are telling you… Please use said function and do it quick so we can all hear the sound of your heads popping out of your asses….

My God…. Sheer and utter stupidity is not supposed to be so apparent when crayons are used to describe what is going on here… Maybe you all need a brighter color? Maybe….

John August 19, 2010 at 1:19 pm

Tonight we will see if Matt is as smart as he claims to be. His IQ dropped 40 points when he failed to put B&R on the block when he won HOH the first time around.

If he puts Kathy up for eviction it is a short term safe move and guarantees her eviction and keeps the Brogade intact until Enzo, Hayden and Lane can dump him the next time he is on the block with any other brogade member. Bad move long term if Matt hopes to get to the final 2.

If he puts Btit up for eviction it is a short term safe move and guarantees her eviction and keeps the Brogade intact until Enzo, Hayden and Lane can dump him the next time he is on the block with any other brogade member. Bad move long term if Matt hopes to get to the final 2. He needs her to net the bungling borgade out sooner than later.

If he sees the writing on the wall – ALL CAPS – that he is at the very bottom of the borgade pecking order despite the fact that he is the only one of them actually doing more than eating, sleeping, playing pool and simply talking the talk, with or without pretending to be auditioning for a dumb guy role on the Sopranos, he will get rid of Enzo NOW!

Without Matt on boaed, the Brogade is doomed and Matt, Ragan, Brit and Kathy can target Brendon, Hayden, Lane (Brit can live with that for a shot at half a mil) in that order. Kathy would be disposed of then, leaving the winners/real players free to compete for the big prize with the losers long gone.

Think about it Matt… Real hard… Play to win…

Rhoadrunner August 19, 2010 at 1:23 pm

Matt also won that when HE was HoH, and didn’t use it on his own eviction. This is his last eviction to be able to use it. He has said as much in this week’s episode, in his DR session I believe.

Anonymous August 19, 2010 at 1:55 pm

you never answered the my question about brendon being able to play in tonights hoh?

FUCKING IDIOTS August 19, 2010 at 2:46 pm

omg… all 12 seasons the HoH has NEVER been able to play in the HoH the next week… so why in the FUCK would it change now….?

Sublime August 19, 2010 at 3:25 pm

Chima was able to compete in the HOH Comp after the CDT was used to overturn her noms.

Anonymous August 19, 2010 at 4:01 pm

FAQ 3 – while I find it quite unlikely that Matt will be allowed to nominate Brendon the instructions provided with the DPOV did not state that he could not do so. Following is what Matt read off the instruction card:

“Congratulations, you now possess the diamond power of veto. This veto not only gives you the power to save yourself or someone else from the block, it also gives you the power to name the replacement nominee. The veto can be used only once at one of the next two evictions .You must keep this power a secret or you risk losing it. Use your power wisely for you will soon learn what you have unleashed upon the house.”

ChrisM August 19, 2010 at 4:03 pm

Sorry didn’t mean for previous comment to be posted as anonymous. Personally I think there is about a 99.99% chance that Kathy is going home.

Not An Idiot August 19, 2010 at 4:11 pm

@FUCKING IDIOT – the FUCKING reason they would FUCKING decided to change it now is because they have all FUCKING ready done it that way during Big Brother 11 (remember Chima) or were you FUCKING asleep that week? Or do you just come here to show your FUCKING ignorance?

Joanna August 19, 2010 at 4:16 pm

Anonymous and Fucking idots – Actually…I wouldn’t be surprised if Brendon COULD play in tonight’s HoH. I didn’t include that in the post because of a few reasons. In the past when there is a power like this outgoing HoHs have played ini the competition. Once it was planned (allstars) but sometimes its not (season 11) but in season 11 Chima DID play in HoH. I have always felt like she got the right to play because she was so livid that she was overthrown and was threatening to ruin the live show. SO brace yourselves guys…there is deinfintley a chance Brendon is going to play in tonights HoH.

Nancy August 19, 2010 at 5:36 pm

If a HOH’s power is taken away, they are no longer HOH and that’s why they are able to play in the next HOH competition. Julie stated that when Jeff used the coup d’etat. I think the big surprise tonight is not only that
Matt will be using it but also that it now gives Brendan the opportunity to play in the HOH competition. If Matt was just using the dpov to take himself off the block, that would be one thing. But once he has the power to name the replacement nom, he becomes the HOH in doing so. I think that why it said, “use the power wisely because it could unleash something else on the house”.

Anonymous August 19, 2010 at 6:44 pm

OMG you people are crazy nuts over Big Brother and In the first season they all played in the hoh after the had won they changed that in the second season. Wowwwwwwww some of u are crazy!!
